Often times Honda SUVs are high enough that you do not need to jack them up to drain the fluid, and no special tools other than a 3/8th ratchet are required. This adds to the convenience of our kit, making the transmission service process even simpler and more accessible for DIY enthusiasts.
The kit comprises 3-5 quarts of Genuine Honda ATF DW-1 or CVT-1, ensuring compatibility with your vehicle's transmission needs. Additionally, replacement crush washers are included for a secure seal. You have the option to customize your kit by selecting a funnel and/or drain pan according to your preferences and requirements.
Its a pretty easy process.
- Warm up vehicle for 2-5 minutes and cycle all gears while stationary.
- Find drain plug on bottom of transmission identifying plug by picture below.
- Drain fluid, you should get between 2.5-4.5 quarts depending on fill level and vehicle. Clean magnetic drain plug; it will have debris on it no matter what.
- Put new crush washer on transmission drain bolt and tighten to 36 ft-lbs Or snug plus quarter turn approximately.
- Find fill plug on top of trans and insert funnel. You may have to remove air box for this on some vehicles (usually just requires a Phillips screwdriver and a 10mm socket with an extension). The bolt is typically a 14mm but sometimes a 17mm.
- CVT vehicles often have a rubber plug that's sometimes missing or has popped out. See picture.
- Fill with suggested amount of fluid for your vehicle included in spec sheet that comes in kit. Change crush washer and tighten fill to 33 ft-lbs or again snug plus quarter turn.
- Warm up, cycle gears, and drive!
